‘Nothing’ :: Jennifer Sawdon

I’ve worked with Jenny a few times at weddings where she was singing and I was shooting. At one I did a same day edit which used the recording of Jenny’s singing as a soundtrack. Jen showed this clip to her fiancé Chris and before long I was booked in to film their wedding. After a few more chance meetings, again at weddings, Jenny approached me to shoot and edit her first music video which I was very excited to get involved with.
After a few ideas about a narrative type video which involved Chris running around Manchester as the main star, we settled on a more basic set up. One shoot, one chance. Thank god for the amazing sunset! We got everything ready with the piano in front of the window but if the sun hadn’t played it’s part I don’t know what we would have done.

Finally! I’ve been working on this music video for some time now and thought it might be interesting to my wedding clients, so here it is. This video will be at the heart of a promotional campaign involving local radio advertising nation-wide.
It is the first in a series of music videos I will be producing for Helen, next up is a song called ‘Miles Away’. I’m really exited about this one because the song is simply amazing! Check back here for updates!

Snowbombing Road Trip 2009 Promo

Shot on Canon 5d Mark II. This was a great trip and it gave me plenty of time to get to know my new camera. I can’t wait to start shooting some weddings with this beast. The depth of field is so controllable, it makes it easier to achieve that cinematic background blur.
The size of the sensor also adds to colour rendition and low light capabilities. No more struggling for light during the speeches and in dark churches.

Hey Jude // sailing video

This was shot during the delivery of ‘Hey Jude’, a Bavaria 50 Vision. We sailed form Palermo in Sicily through the Corinth Canal and on to the Greek Island of Mykonos. It was shot on a Sony HDR HC7.

Borneo // diving video

The opening shots to a short documentary about the diving in Sipadan and Layang Layang in Malaysian Borneo. It was an amazing trip taking in some of the most beautiful diving in the world. There is a little issue with the jumping, it was recorded at 25 fps and the server uses 24 fps, sorry about that, hope it doesn’t spoil the viewing too much.
